49 Pakistani Sikh Pilgrims Return Home via Attari-Wagah After Month-Long India Visit

Forty-nine Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan have returned home through the Attari-Wagah border after a month-long religious journey in India. The central government's intervention enabled their road journey after complications with the original flight arrangements.

Forty-nine Sikh pilgrims from Nankana Sahib and adjoining areas of Pakistan returned home through the Attari-Wagah border after completing a month-long religious pilgrimage across India. The pilgrims were allowed to travel back to Pakistan by road after completing all necessary immigration and security formalities at the Attari border.

During their stay in India, the pilgrims visited several prominent Sikh religious sites, including Shri Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand, Shri Anandpur Sahib, Shri Harmandir Sahib and various historic Gurdwaras in Delhi. The group had spent nearly a month visiting these sacred places.

Bhupinder Singh, a pilgrim from Nankana Sahib who was part of the group, said they had arrived in India on 30-day visas. He described visiting Shri Hemkund Sahib and Shri Harmandir Sahib as the most memorable experiences of his life. He also expressed gratitude to the governments of India and Pakistan, along with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), for making arrangements for their pilgrimage.

The pilgrims were initially scheduled to return to Pakistan by air. However, the proposed journey involved connecting flights and lengthy documentation procedures, which would have taken approximately 22 to 24 hours to complete.
